There really are some things that we will miss about Nome, Alaska. It was part of us for two years. It is such a nice small town that little things seem more personally attached. And really, of all the people in the world right now, how many can say they have ever even been to Nome, let alone lived there for two years?
I think that the ice cream truck with the reindeer made out of garland on the roof is one in a billion.
How many stores do you know that have antlers hung outside?
And Anvil Mountain holds a certain mystique to me. The last time I climbed it in May, the wild musk ox and their new offspring were up there.
