I took the day off. I actually put the sub request in Friday night. I needed to stay home today to do some more applications. It is a LOT of work. A standard application that I mail in is about thirty pages, with letters of recommendation, transcripts, and such. And it's still not done. I now have to take these insert forms to other teachers and supervisors and have them fill out so I can send them in. These forms are checkboxes on my teaching abilities. Apparently, letters of recommendation aren't enough.
And I am doing online applications. It's pretty cool how some districts are doing this. It takes a few minutes, but at least there is no paper involved. The only real problem now is going to all the districts' websites. There's about, oh, a million of them.
I also am looking out of state. Who's up for an Alaskan adventure? One of the job summaries there spoke specifically about the weather normally reaching 40 below, mail coming most days depending on weather, and travel to the village is either by plane or snowmobile.
