does the writer have the final say? Or does a reader bring new "baggage" into a poem and come out with more.
We've all had that poem or story we just couldn't see. My colleagues tell me their hate of The Catcher in the Rye yet it speaks to me. Did the author mean these things or was it serendipity?
Even in my own pathetic writing, there are times when I look back and shout "serendipity." Ever look at anything you've written from a long while ago, when you're not as attached to it?
